Our client in Stellenbosch is looking for an Assistant Wine Maker.
Job Requirements
The employee will be responsible in assisting in all Winemaking and Warehousing activities taking place. This position will be reporting to the Winemaker.
Financial:
Responsible in working on detailed budget planning for Quality management with Financial Manager.
Must comply with company purchasing system and protocols for all purchases
Duties:Duties will include the following:
Work Hours:
Average 45 hour week
After hours and/or flexible hours probable due to scheduled or unexpected maintenance event.

Duties:Duties will include the following:
- Acting as ambassador
- Professional handling of clients, all suppliers, VIP guests, trade guests, visitors and public
- Keep senior management fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance relating to any event, and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken
- Winery and Warehousing
- Assisting in managing the full maintenance process in and around the Winery, warehouse and bottling facilities.
- Assisting in wine logistics and administrative paperwork and these activities will have to be ready on time for deliveries.
- Assisting in Dry goods and Wine Inventories on a daily basis
- Assisting in winemaking and technical aspects of the production under the supervision of the Winemaker
- Assisting in storing and bottling of all the different wines in accordance with the Employers marketing positioning and deliver the quality required by the Employer
- Attending weekly planning meetings
- Quality Management
- Managing Quality Control and need to be BRC compatible
- Winemaking standards and specifications to comply with IPW standards.
- Bottling standards and specifications to comply with IPW standards
- Warehousing standards and specifications to comply with IPW standards.
- Manage General Quality inquiries from public and customers
- Manage all other quality related issues
- Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
