About the Organization:

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an international not for profit organization, it builds, rehabilitates, and repairs houses with the help of homeowner (known as “partner”) families, volunteer labor, and donations of money and materials. Habitat houses are sold to home partner families at no profit and are financed through affordable long-term loans. Their monthly mortgage payments go into a local revolving fund to be used to build still more Habitat home.
About the Job:
HFHI is seeking a Microfinance Partnerships Specialist - Housing Microfinance. S/he will serve as the subject matter expert for Africa with a focus on the national organizations (NOs) and branches throughout the continent. S/he will have the opportunity to utilize his/her strong knowledge of microfinance to partner with financial service organizations or similar networks to promote and further advance the housing finance and market development strategy and overall program in Africa.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
    Address the lack of know how among market actors on how to serve low-income people with products, services, and/or financing;
    Mobilize capital suitable to encourage leaps forward in innovation and scale of market actors serving the poor with their products, services, and/or financing;
    Through market partners, provide non-financial market-based solutions/services for low-income housing to support households to pursue their housing goals (meet housing quality standards).
Qualifications:
·             Bachelor’s degree;
·             More than 5 years’ experience in microfinance, housing finance, research, or development;
·             At least 3 years’ experience in management role;
·             Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques;
·             Proven experience conducting market research studies and established involvement in product development processes;
·             Fluency in English (spoken and written).
