Background Information:
The Manager  Solutions Delivery is responsible for leading a team of software developers and database administrators in order to create and maintain software solutions. The Manager   Solution Delivery will also be the custodian of the application and integration architecture of the Company. The Manager   Solution Architecture must not only understand the Business sufficiently in order to translate requirement into solutions, but also understands the complexities and restrictions of IT in order to convey these back to Business.
Minimum competencies

x Application, business intelligence and integration architecture     South African Banking industry architecture definition, design, build, deployment, frameworks, principles, security, etc.

x Project methodology     understanding of basic project methodology and principles, working in teams, drafting project plans, resource management, etc.
x Hand on software development and testing  designs, coding, unit testing, documentation, etc.
x SDLC methodology  waterfall, prototyping, rapid application development, etc.
x Software selection and implementation  frameworks, standards, technology platforms, etc.
x Infrastructure selectionn  technology platforms, operating systems, hardware platforms, networks, etc.
x Database administration ERDs, modelling, governance, housekeeping, etc.

x Leadership technical leadership, responsibility, authority, steering teams, etc.
x Breadth of experience other industries, bespoke vs. CoTS solutions, etc.
x Practices and standards architecture and coding standards, governance, templates, quality assurance, etc.
x Research and development     how do you stay abreast of technological advancements
Responsibilities
x Lead and manage a team of software developers and architects.
x Establish proper governance standards for the Solutions Delivery capability.
x Develop, implement and ensure compliance to methodologies and processes appropriate for the effective and efficient functioning of the Solutions Delivery function as well as integration into the methodologies and processes br /> oof the rest of the IT teams.
x Stay abreast of best practices and / or new developments in Solutions Delivery and related disciplines and drive adoption as deemed appropriate.
x Coach and mentor team members in the disciplines and work methods required to comply to agreed
methodologies and processes.
x Ensure quality of all analysis work performed by the Solutions Delivery team.
x Ensure that quality data models, architectures as well as code are produced and maintained.
x Produce or involved in creation of and sign off on the following artefacts
o ERDs br /> o Integration designs
o Technical designs
o Architecture designs
o Security designs
o Database designs
o Test packs

Establish and build relationships with business owners and stakeholders. Build in depth understanding of the business as well as a solid understanding of the supporting IT solutions in order to add value to the business owners.
x Be instrumental in the prioritisation of business initiatives ,projects or otherwise, and facilitate the resolution of conflicting business priorities.
x Ensure that business owners remain up to date in terms of the status of their initiatives throughout the various stages of the delivery lifecycle.
x Foster and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with other IT teams in order to ensure end to end
IT delivery.
x Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and champion collective IT solutions i.e. selling the solution to the business.
x Prepare and manage Solutions Delivery budgets in support of business goals and ensure consistent expenditure against plans over the financial year.
x Ensure appropriate resource capacity in the Solutions Delivery team including appropriate skills, experience, succession planning and job shadowing of critical resources.
x Ensure equitable work load allocation and demand management.
x Manage performance of the team including recognition and reward, performance contracts, personal
development plans, disciplinary procedures, etc.
x Participate in development of overall IT strategy in support of business objectives with particular focus on
operational and service excellence.
x Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures.
x Manage a diverse compliment of external service providers.
x Engage and interact with SABAs parent company in Greece National Bank of Greece on an as needed basis.

Experience
x Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant discipline from accredited institutions.
x Experience in financial markets, specifically Commercial Banking essential.
x A minimum of 15 years solid experience of Solutions Delivery in a complex and heterogeneous IT environment.
x A minimum of 5 years  solid management experience working in a multi disciplinary team, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
x Good working knowledge of project management practices and principles.
x Deep experience in both developing new software as well as maintaining software.
x Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring staff and /or colleagues.
x Solid experience in interacting with internal and external customers with demonstrated customer service
orientation.
x Understanding of the South African Banking regulatory landscape, e.g. PASA, NPS, NCR, FIC, PCHs, SARB, etc. and
it is associated guidelines and requirements.
x Primary technology platform  Microsoft.
