Brief Description:
The Guaranteed Funds team is seeking a talented and suitably qualified individual. In this role you will form part of the team that is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of some of the key guaranteed offerings within Old Mutual’s range. The role involves close interaction with Savings COE, Income Solutions COE and Wealth COE.
KRA's:
Strategy for Guaranteed Funds:
n Assist with the implementation with the development strategy for Old Mutual’s Guaranteed Fund offering across all segments (Corporate, Retail and MFC).
Fund Development & Maintenance:
Assist with driving innovation and customer centricity through the design and development of new guaranteed funds or the enhancement of existing funds. Aim to offer solutions that are profitable, market-leading, cost-effective and meet identified customer needs.
n Product development owner of key existing Guaranteed funds, including Fixed Bonds and Guaranteed Equity and Bond Tracker Funds.
n Identify new opportunities in the single premium investment space, engage with stakeholders in the wider OM group, and implement the solution.
n Working closely with internal and external stakeholders including asset managers, investment banks, Old Mutual’s Tax and Legal Advisory Units, Old Mutual’s ALM and Mandate Management units, and senior distribution, marketing and servicing staff.
n Developing and maintaining expertise on fixed interest, alternative and derivative-based investment environments and use this knowledge in product innovation.
n Participating in and contributing towards major strategic and business drives within the Guaranteed Funds space, and within the broader Product Solutions area.
n Providing technical product support to product marketing and servicing areas
n Perform local and international research to identify potential alternative guarantee solutions.
n Monitor ongoing product performance and work closely with Asset Managers and Finance to determine pricing assumptions.
nEnsure accurate pricing and required profitability levels are achieved for new and existing guaranteed offerings, incl. meeting Old Mutual Group sign-off requirements.

- Qualified Actuary and at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Self-starter with strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to successfully juggle several projects and priorities at once, to work well under pressure, and to drive projects to completion
- Innovative thinker & creative decision-maker
- Ability to work with, influence, negotiate with, and gain buy-in from a wide variety of stakeholders
- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Knowledge and experience of the investment market would be a distinct advantage Knowledge of financial reporting, financial management and regulatory environment, particularly areas that have a major impact on product development e.g. MCEV, Solvency II / SAM
