Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the
Head of Financial Performance will be required to support the global finance
community to ensure good financial management throughout the organisation by
setting standards and providing guidance, tools and training materials and by
overseeing compliance and by sharing best practice. Managing the team of
Finance Coordinators and Analysts that support the Country Teams and other
Directorates, including Fundraising & Communications, Programmes and Organisational
Effectiveness in delivery and monitoring of compliance against global
standards, systems and processes as well as capacity building.
Key responsibility areas include, but are not limited to: •
Strategic review and development of financial systems and policies. • Review,
implement and maintain global policies, processes and standards • Lead work
streams within the Finance Transformation Project, and accountable for the
implementation of deliverables relating to strategic and operational support to
countries • Ownership of organization financial systems (TM1 and SUN) • Support
to the Global Finance Community • Capacity building together with the Regional
Finance teams • Instill and promote cost-consciousness and value for money
throughout the organization and promote optimal use of resources • Proactive
people management of direct reports as well as building a cohesive and focused
management team
Person Specification The ideal candidate will have a
Graduate Accountancy qualification (Internationally Recognized CA). This will
be coupled with: • More than 10 years’ post article experience in a
multinational international organisation. • Ability to think strategically, to
delegate where appropriate, to prioritise competing demands and to influence a
peer group. • Excellent communication and influencing skills – fluent spoken
and written English. • Ability to positively build peer working relationships
and be effective without having to rely on authority. • Ability to cope with
considerable travel demands. • Experience of Financial
Consolidation/Aggregation Packages. Experience in managing or implementing
Financial Systems would be an advantage. • Knowledge and/or experience of the
Not For Profit, NGO and /or development sectors. • Commitment to ActionAid’s
