Unit:  Sun City Resort

Location:  Sun City - Repairs and Maintenance


Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Resort Engineering Manager, the incumbent be responsible to manage the electrical department in such a manner that all electrical/mechanical related equipment and machinery is maintained and repaired and operated according to standards.

Education:

Matric/Grade 12
A graduate engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) or an equivalent recognized qualification as stipulated in the Occupational and Safety Act.
Trade tested

Experience:
At least 2 years post graduate experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in an electrical environment of which 3 must be at a managerial level

Skills and Knowledge:
Computer literacy (MS Office and BMS system)
Attention to details
Good communication skills(verbal and Written)

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensure recommendations support the business strategy and budget
  • Ensure outcomes of strategy achieve overall business objectives and growth strategies
  • Occupancy levels considered during strategy formulation.
  • Effective human resource, systems and solutions are proposed to support strategy
  • Plant and system- upgrades are performed in accordance with project plan-5 year plan
  • Ensure upgrades are performed with the least disruption to operations as per SOP’s
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed when opportunities arise
  • Plant/equipment available as per operational requirements and department standards
  • Ensure all departmental standards, processes and legislative prescripts have been adhered to
  • Ensure problems have been resolved within agreed times (SLA)
  • Ensure monthly budget control as per internal standards
  • Report deadlines are met as per agreed timelines
  • Stakeholders are able to identify all incidents that took place at the event by reading a detailed report
  • The team is resourced as per operational requirements
  • Ensure staff are provided with opportunities/forums to question and provide input
