Brief Description:
This role uses specialist technical knowledge to assess risk for the business and/or specific products.
This role is for a dynamic individual with a willingness to learn and be part of a specialised claims assessing team.
KRA's:
· Coaching
o May act as mentor to less experienced administrators.
· Personal Effectiveness
o Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.
o Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of 1 day to a maximum of 3 months.
o Makes increased contributions by broadening individual skills.
o Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.
o Accepts and lives the company values.
· Risk Management
o Uses specialist technical knowledge to evaluate and manage the validity of contracts and determine and manage the liability of claims.
o Determines, selects and accepts risk and/or liability on behalf of the organisation.
o Evaluates proposals and medical evidence against business rules and practices.
o Exercises discretion in decision making within standardised practice.
Job Requirements:
· Professional degree: Nurse; Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapy degree
· Training in the area of expertise (Medical and/or Commercial).
· Specialised medical knowledge through learning or experience.
· Claims Assessing experience would be an added advantage
· Experience in the Financial Service Industry would be advantageous.
· Certificate of Profiency (COP) will be advantageous.
· Well developed interpersonal skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills particularly the ability to have difficult conversations.
· Attention to detail.
· Well developed problem solving skills.
· Good presentation skills
· Must be a team player.
