Job Description:
MWEB, Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a Technical Operations Manager, who, reporting to the General Manager will actively manage and be responsible for the overall operation of the MWEB Network.
Required Skills:
•Engineering Degree, preferably Electrical, IS BSC, Network Systems
•Proven experience and knowledge of wi-fi connectivity is essential
•5 Years in Enterprise IT Operational environment preferably Financial, ICT Industry
•3 Years’ experience in managing a team of specialists
•Proven competence in managing a multi-branch / site network environment
•Outstandind working knowledge and support of connectivity types - 3 Years
•Excellent Networking skills – Cisco Based
•Working experience of QOS measures
•Good working knowledge of network security
•Proven hands-on experience in site builds and site management
•Proven experience in vendor management
•Project Management experience
•Minimum of 5 years relevant IT experience, coupled with a minimum of 2 years relevant management experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Overall Management of the Network in terms of performance, optimisation and improvement
•Ensure the availability, uptime and performance of critical systems
•Lead and manage a highly technical team across geographic locations
•Overall Infrastructure Management
•Service Delivery Management
•Hardware and Inventory Management
•Financial Management of CAPEX and OPEX budget and maintenance budget
•Vendor and Stakeholder Relationship Management
•SLA Management – setting up Service Level agreements with suppliers and key business partners, monitor and take necessary actions when SLA measures are not met
•Implement and maintain IT best practices
•Assist with the attraction of good skills to fill vacancies or grow the team to meet business demands for IT services
•Ensure risk management and adequate controls are in place in terms of data management (backing up, disaster recovery processes etc.)
•Ensure projects are well managed and resourced
