Job Description:
MWEB, Cape Town currently has a vacancy for a Senior Product Manager, who, reporting to the General Manager will be responsible and accountable for portfolio management strategy of Products and Services rendered across the Group Companies and affiliates.
Required Skills:
•Degree in a commercial or technical field. (BCom, Engineering or Computer Science)
•Sound knowledge of internet service provider products and services
•Proven experience in a sales and marketing environment
•Sound knowledge of project management and good working knowledge of the MS Office suite
•Minimum of 3 years experience in a product management, ISP or telecommunications industry with at least 4 years experience managing large scale portfolio of products with revenue generation in excess of R50 million
•Proven experience with presentations to senior management and external stakeholders
•Proven competence in all areas of Product Life-Cycle Management
•3 -5 Years experience in people management
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Define the strategic direction for the product portfolio
•Craft and execute portfolio strategy
•Exploit underlying IT infrastructure to deliver business objectives
•Responsible for budget
•Responsible for Project revenue and expense targets per product line on a weekly, monthly and annual basis
•Manage the revenue targets
•Manage a team of Product Managers and Product Developers who are responsible for the full product suite
•Act as the business owner for MWEB products and services, which may be under development, in use or undergoing extension or redevelopment
•Be responsible for business and product feasibility in relation to business modelling, forecasting sales potential, costing models and target market assessments
•Serve as an internal promoter to MWEB products and services
•Conduct monthly (or as needed) competitor reviews
•Be an advisor on all connectivity and VAS offerings to the management team
•Portfolio of Products is customised to suit the needs of MWEB and other Group Companies
