Regional Programme Funding Coordinator Pretoria R490,745 (negotiable) gross per annum
Funding plays a vital part in our fight against poverty and suffering around the globe. And, our Funding Coordinators are just as vital in ensuring we’re doing all we can to change the lives of millions. At the heart of our programmes here in the Southern African region, you’ll identify and nurture relationships from a wide range of institutional and non-traditional donors. You will lead on the development of quality proposals and concept notes for submission to donors. All of which will have a positive impact on the lives of many across the region.
The role From the start, you’ll lead, design and deliver the funding strategy for the SAF region, working closely with country and regional funding and programme teams. Building on this strategy, you’ll put together long-term quality proposals that identify and develop our relationships with high-value donors as well as philanthropies. And that everything from developing multi-country and regional programme proposals, high-quality reporting and the effective management of funds is never overlooked. You’ll also help to build capacity of our country and regional programme teams in identifying innovative ways of raising funding in the region. It’s a big job but changing the lives of thousands demands real commitment.
What we’re looking for First of all your funding expertise will be second to none. Couple with that your proven record of strategic fundraising in complex, multi-country environments and you’ll be ready to deliver real change. Whether you’re liaising and supporting a whole range of people across the business or reporting directly to the Deputy Regional Director, you’ll build relationships and deal with the stress that a role such as this brings. Your ability to adapt quickly, communicate well and above average interpersonal skills are vital. But, most important will be your ability to represent Oxfam to the donor community. Do that and you’ll see your hard work pay off in the most positive way imaginable.
About Oxfam A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
