- Job Title: Experience Engineer
Organization: End User-Devices - Location:Pretoria.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing assistance to the manager of end user devices by assisting technical assistance and support to IT system users and installing, modifying or making repairs to personal computer hardware and/or software systems, networks, hand-held devices and other IT related operating system components.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance and direction for IT professionals in the end user technologies tower
- Analyze and capture requirements from the business
- Identification and management of project risks and issues
- Oversee the quality of deliverables produced by our IT partners and track to project schedule
- Review and document IT asset management processes and policies whether hardware or software inclusive of license management.
- Review and fine tuning our printing service which involves application based printing solutions as with Epic and the business secure/follow me printing
- Experience in mobile device management (MDM) solutions for PDAs, tablets, and smartphones
- Assist in the identification of IT end user devices for both business and clinical environments ranging from input accessories to workstations such as thin client and classical fat clients.
- Preparing documentation and policies around the use individually assigned end user device and shared end user device within the organization.
- Defining the workstation images and the methods around deploying them.
- Creating the process around reviewing workstation images regularly.
- Experience in application and desktop virtualization technologies.
- Experience in off the shelf business productivity software and making recommendations to the business
- Analyzing classic software deployment technologies such as SCCM and working with the server team to package and deploy applications.
- Experience in software and device product life cycles and planning of future upgrades and technology enhancements
- Experience in vendor support contracts and setting SLAs
- Assist with the preparation of basic training materials and documentation.
- Responds to inquiries concerning system operation and diagnoses system hardware, software and training problems
- Owns the resolution of IT problems and works continuously until issue is resolved from the customer’s perspective
- Define general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, printers and other IT equipment
- Follows CCAD support, engineering and project management methodologies in accordance with industry best practices
- Tests and evaluates new technology
- Provides updates, status and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system and/or users via voicemail, e-mail or in-person communicationSkills
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of four (4) experience broken down into:
- o Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing hardware/software technical support and/or as a computer operator in an enterprise class environment
- Minimum of two (2) years’ of hands on desktop engineering and architecture experience in an enterprise class environment Experience in health care is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM is required
- Experience in desktop and application virtualization is required
- Experience in project management is preferred
- Experience in supporting applications in 24 x 7 or highly available environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office application support including MOSS, OCS, Active Directory and Citrix, Antivirus/Security software and virtualized desktop software solutions is preferred
- Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with various Laptop, desktop or handheld hardware equipment
- Ability to analyze data and use methods for troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members
- Demonstrated customer support and interpersonal skills
- Must maintain a strong dedication to quality customer service and the ability to maintain a high-degree of professional demeanor and appearance
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree/diploma is required
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- A+, Microsoft MCP, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, VMware View, and project management certifications are preferred
