PATH's Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Program (MCHN) works to apply effective, innovative approaches to broadening access to and use of key Maternal and Child and Nutrition interventions that address the most pressing causes of maternal and child deaths, poor health, and poor nutritional status.
PATH requires a finance professional for a new project implemented in the Sedibeng district that proposes to catalyze early childhood growth and development activities, with a special focus on newborns and children under two yours of age, through the establishment of an innovative, multisectoral platform that includes provincial and local health and social services, and communities. The position will support technical staff in activities to identify major challenges to health and wellbeing and to design and implement focused, high-impact interventions that strengthen the continuum of care across pregnancy, labour and delivery, and early childhood (0รข€”2 years old).

Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate project finance and administrative activities among district project staff.
- Work with senior finance and administration officer to develop and process financial documents and contractual subawards, including consultant agreements, subagreements, subcontracts, and work orders and ensure overall sub-awardee compliance
- Process payments to sub-awardees, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
- Track and monitor all developed sub-awards.
- Review and monitor reporting and payment schedules for all subaward budgets.
- Process payments to subawardees, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
- Assist with development and monitoring of annual and project budgets which includes (but not limited to) review of monthly expense reports, tracking of labour and non-labour discrepancies, manage agreements with local vendors, coordinate travel arrangements, ensure compliance with donor requirements and so on
Required Skills
- Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment with program and technical staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented with good follow through.
- Ability to solve problems and take initiative.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
Required Experience
- 3 year degree or national diploma in business administration, accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in administration and financial management functions, three of which must be in the NGO / development sector.
- Experience designing and implementing administrative and financial coordination systems.
- Experience in working with accounting and financial systems.
