Narrative Description
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, Africa (AFI) the incumbent will be responsible for providing
administrative support to the Regional Vice President (RVP) and support the coordination of AFI wide Member and Government Relations (MGR) efforts.
Responsibilities
Provide high-level administrative support and delivery of top quality documentation (presentations, summaries of meetings, reports, analyses, etc.) to the RVP AFI as required; Responsible for the full coordination of RVP's business travel and day-to-day scheduling of appointments; Prepare logistics and follow-up on major events, committees and strategy meetings; Coordinate the information flow and reporting within the AFI region, and with external stakeholders at all levels; Regular interaction with region wide, external parties such as airlines, aviation related organizations, and other; Continuous interaction with the RCT, regional team, Regional Office, Headquarters and staff in order to keep abreast of all current activities and to ensure efficient operations.Facilitate special projects; andAny other tasks as requested by the RVP.
Qualifications and Skills
University Degree in business administration or relevant airline/aviation experience5-8 years of professional experience, with at least 3 in a similar position; Knowledge of pan African airlines and their operating environments.Significant airline industry background/ commercial airline experience will be an advantage; Ability to analyze trends and identify key indicators from political, trade ,airline and stakeholder intelligence.Excellent organizational and administrative skills; Highly energetic and motivated individual; Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines; Excellent PC skills, particularity with MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) as well as familiarity with databases would be an asset; Excellent interpersonal,presentation and communication skills with ability to work in complex cross-cultural environments; Fluency in English is essential whilst knowledge of any regional languages would constitute an advantage.
