IFC's highly qualified and motivated professionals come from around the world, bringing a wide variety of experiences.The Treasury Client Solutions Department provides IFC's clients with innovative forms of local currency financing with a focus on the development of domestic debt markets to help increase the capacity for long-term local currency investment. The group has global responsibility for derivative transactions, structured products, and debt capital markets including IFC's own local currency bond issuance. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an area of strategic priority to IFC, to get exposure to cross-currency derivatives markets, local currency bond issuances, as well as a wide variety of transaction structures, covering various asset classes and geographic markets, and contribute to first-time transactions in emerging markets. Positions are based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Dakar, Senegal. Candidates are invited to indicate their preferred location in their motivational letter and CV. Duties and Accountabilities

  •     Assist in developing, structuring, and executing local currency funding transactions in domestic debt capital markets.
  •     Support business development, structuring, and execution of investment transactions involving structured products, derivatives, and other capital market instruments.
  •     Develop financial models associated with the structuring and pricing of transactions.
  •     Contribute to building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including international investment banks, local banks, capital market firms, investors, and regulators.
  •     Support the marketing of treasury products for clients, regulatory agencies, and banks.
  •     Conduct market research in local and international FX and debt capital markets.
  •     Contribute to the preparation and execution of IFC's local currency bond issuances and associated approval process.
  •     Provide training and knowledge management services to internal and external clients.

Selection Criteria

  •     Bachelors' or Masters - degree in Finance or Financial engineering, and 2+ years relevant experience in financial markets, preferably in fixed income and/or structured finance within an investment bank, rating agency, or other capital-markets related institution.
  •     Knowledge of FX markets, debt capital markets, and/or structured finance, and enthusiasm for the development of domestic capital markets.
  •     Sound business judgment.
  •     Advanced data analysis and management skills and intimate knowledge of information platforms, including Bloomberg and Reuters.
  •     Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills; advanced knowledge of Excel and other statistical software packages is desirable.
  •     Ability to multi-task and to pay attention to detail, even when under tight deadlines.
  •     Excellent communication skills in English; candidates with additional language skills in French have a competitive advantage.
  •     Motivated, results-oriented self-starter who can operate successfully in a team environment, and who is willing to travel.
