Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a SHEQ Systems Specialist responsible for driving the discipline and
methodologies of SHEQ Management Systems implementation, compliance and continual improvement within our business. To provide strong SHEQ leadership to PB staff along with guidance and mentoring where required on projects. The incumbent will ensure that management systems requirements are prepared and certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, BB Gap, SANS 10227 & ISO 17020.
Note: This role does require travel from time to time as determined by the line manager and is an office based position.

Responsibilities:

•     Developing and Implementing SHEQ Management System and Programs in line with BMS requirements, Global PB SHEQ Management System Standards and BB GAP.
•     Review SHEQ Management System to accommodate changes in Legislation, Group and Industry Standards and revise policies, standards and procedures accordingly where applicable and update relevant parties on revisions and/or changes.
•     Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, SANS 10227 & ISO 17020 accreditation and adherence to audit findings.
•     Ensure compliance and monitoring to the BB Group Audit Protocol and adherence to audit findings.
•     Assist management with the development, implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ Management System within PB Africa.
•     Ensure SHEQ Master Document Register, iSMS and Data Control Systems inclusive of all files are implemented and maintained.
•     Conduct awareness training on SHEQ Management Initiatives and Programmes.
•     Ensure Management set Objectives and Targets for SHEQ compliance and monitor and report on the performance of these Objective and Targets.
•     Prepare annual SHEQ Meeting Register, Coordinate and facilitate SHEQ Meeting Agenda’s, Track and Monitor SHEQ Meeting Action Lists.
•     Evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of SHEQ Management Plans, Programs and prepare periodically reports with trend analysis for managements review.
•     As Lead Auditor prepare the annual Audit Program, schedule and conduct audits and monitor audit findings and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
•     Arrange integrated SHEQ management review meetings.
•     Prepare review documentation for BMS Management Review meetings.
•     Implement and maintain Contractor’s Management and enforce contractor’s compliance.
•     Promote SHEQ Awareness by developing and empowering employees to take ownership of the SHEQ Management system.
•     Responsible for professional accreditations and memberships.

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience:
    Matric Certificate

•     Certified IMS Auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001)
•     Expert knowledge and proven track record on the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 17020, SANS 10227 and BB GAP
•     ISO 17020 knowledge and implementation course (system)
•     SANS 10227 knowledge and implementation course (system)
•     Be able to demonstrate high level of understanding and interpretation of applicable laws, regulations and international best practice standards in SHEQ Management
•     Need to demonstrate technical skills and extensive knowledge of SHEQ Management in a diverse range of industries and work environments
•     5 years SHEQ Systems Coordinator experience with a reputable international or national company
•     5 years SHEQ Internal and/or External Auditor experience required
•     Efficient with electronic business management programs
•     Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills are required. With the ability to deal with a wide range of people including employees, managers, consultants, other specialists, and Government officials
•     Good team leadership and management skills are required to ensure strong corporate stance on SHEQ Management

Remuneration:

    Market related and highly negotiable TCTC
